Saturday, December 20th – Travel and Magic Kingdom
(Go down one post to start)
We woke up at the Hilton and got ready for the day before we dropped the surprise on the girls about where we were. They were a little shocked (see a few posts below) but quickly got excited! We had breakfast then headed toward the Disney Property.
When we pulled into the entrance, the excitement level really went up a few notches…for the girls AND us! We stayed at the Port Orleans Resort, which was beautiful. All of the buildings looked like plantation homes. There was another surprise awaiting the girls…my Aunt and Uncle from Ohio. All 3 girls were so excited to see them!
Since our room wasn’t ready yet, we all headed over to the Magic Kingdom. I was so excited to see the looks on the girls’ faces (and Billie’s) when they saw Cinderella’s Castle for the first time! I didn’t catch LB’s face, but did get JK and AA with the camera. Disney World is extra magical at Christmas!
We had a quick lunch-snack and walked around MK a bit more before heading to our room to get settled for the week. When we arrived to our room, we were greeted by a towel Mickey on our bed…of course!
We quickly got our luggage in and tried to freshen up a bit before dinner, which was at the Wilderness Lodge at the Whispering Canyons Café. That was one fun place to eat! Our waitress was a hoot…throwing straws and napkins on the table…and just look what happened when we asked for ketchup:
Dinner was also filled with the Hokey Pokey and a stick pony race that JK, LB and their daddy participated in! The girls loved having an excuse to run around a restaurant…
After dinner we headed back the MK for the nightly SpectroMagic Parade. It was a fantastic way to kick off the week. The girls were in awe of each float and character that came by. I loved watching their eyes as they watched the parade. AA squealed during the entire parade! This type of thing was a first for all of them…we don’t get this kind of entertainment in Hawkinsville!
We fell into bed exhausted and ready for our week! Enjoy the slide show!
