Sunday, December 21st – Magic Kingdom and Hollywood Studios (formerly MGM Studios)
We were all raring to go on our first full day! Our plan was to head to MK first thing and get the girls on some rides. So that’s what we did.
We had plans to get as many autographs as we could and we started with Pinocchio. JK and LB loved it, but AA wasn’t so sure about this costumed person. After meeting the wooden puppet, we got in line to meet Mary Poppins, which is a favorite in our house!
Again, the older two really got into meeting the characters, but AA was not in the character meeting mood. So we moved onto rides! First was Dumbo, then the Teacups, followed by Cinderella’s Carousel and the infamous It’s a Small World boat ride.
We also met Scrooge McDuck , Pluto and the Fairy Godmother…who was adorable! She played her part very well! We got Mickey Ears for the girls and saw the Princesses dance onstage in front of the Castle.
After we finished our list at MK, we headed to Hollywood Studios, where AA fell asleep in the stroller. We had plans to get back to our room to rest in the afternoon, but that didn’t happen, so we were one stroller short and 2 big girls tired! So Billie had to bite the bullet and pay $30 to rent a double stroller for the few hours that we would be at HS…it was either that or listen to tired whining!
While at HS, we got to meet Quincy, June and Leo from The Little Einsteins and Handy Manny, which is another hit at home! AA slept through it all, but we had her book signed for her.
Dinner was at Hollywood and Vine…a wonderful buffet…even a kid sized one! JK and LB loved being able to reach and choose their own food!
After dinner, we watched the Osborne family Spectacle of Lights, which was set up to move with music. We all thoroughly enjoyed it, and the faux snow at the end was a great touch!
We made it back to the room and dropped into bed again! Enjoy Slideshow #2!
