Hopefully...

...this will be the last "cram an entire month into one post" post...theoretically.

February was pretty low key.  I always enjoy the relaxed feel that the months after Christmas bring.  We get back into the swing of school full-time in January, and by February, we're in our groove again.  Then it's about time for spring break and for me to start planning our next school year.  So needless to say, February is a good month for not much of anything but what's normal.

The AWANA Grand Prix was the first weekend of February.  We have never had any experience with AWANA before now, and the girls love it!  They are learning scripture like crazy and are having fun at the same time.  Each girl designed her own car, and with the help of daddy and Pastor Terry, the cars took shape! JK wanted her car to look like a ballet slipper (of course!), LB had an Izzie bottle (her daddy's favorite Starbucks treat), AA had a McDonald's cup (and a real lid!), and EG had a piano, complete with keyboard and tiny sheet music!  We had so much fun at the race that Saturday.  Each of the girls did good, though we are better prepared for next year!  JK and EG each won second place in their respective groups (T&T and Cubbies) for design, so they were stoked!  Here are pics of the girls' cars:

There's only one update since my previous post.

LB is in her 3rd year of gymnastics.  She's quite a natural and she loves it like crazy!  She's been begging to try out for the competition team for months.  I told her that when she gets her back handspring that we can start talking about it.  Well, that happened a few weeks ago.  So she started asking about competing.  I looked into the cost of this endeavour and almost choked.  Not something that we can swing right now on a full time basis.  We can afford for her to train one day a week, just not compete or add the extra day of training.  Last week I talked to the coach in charge of all of the competition teams.  She had LB do a few basic things and invited her to come try a training session with the level 3 team.  You can imagine her excitement!  During that session this past Monday, she was moved to the level 4 team!  So every Monday night from 5:30-9:00, LB will be working with the level 4 girls and training so that when we are more financially prepared, she can take off full throttle!

That's about all for now.  I'll start back with event-by-event blogging in March...that's the plan anyway!
