Welcome to the club!

Last week was quite a week. All 5 of us had eye appointments.

JK has had her glasses for 4 years now...crazy...she was going to see the dr twice a year until last year and she got the go ahead to come just once a year. Her poor eyes are so bad that our medical insurance covers her exams under the specialist copay.

LB went for the first time 2 years ago...after seeing the problems that JK had, we didn't want to miss anything! She didn't go last year, but this year it was time.

This year was AA's first visit.

All 3 do fine with the exam itself. But the eyedrops...oh, the eyedrops. What a pain in the rear. But totally necessary. JK and LB had major issues with them (again), but AA took it like a rock star.

JK's exam went well...just some minor changes to her prescription, which we knew would happen. AA is starting to have problems...next year's visit will tell us if her farsightedness has gotten worse.

LB...she ended up in glasses. Part of the club now. You see, Billie and I also found out that we needed glasses last week too. I have had them since 6th grade, but haven't been consistent in wearing them for years. Billie has them for the first time now.

LB not only had to get glasses...she had to get bifocals. Yep, that's right. Bifocals for my 6 year old. She's been having problems for the past year with her reading...switching letters, saying words backwards. I figured it was either dyslexia or a vision issue. Poor thing...her left eye wasn't working half the time and her eyes were crossing while she was reading. No wonder she was having issues.

So glad it was just a vision thing.

Here she is...the 4th member of our family with specs. She's so cute!

I have to include a photo of the 2 sisters. JK's transitions are working nicely...this is a new thing for her this year since she's done so well taking care of her glasses for the past 4 years.

And last but not least, AA and her "glasses" and case, compliments of our wonderful eye doctor. She thought she was big stuff!
