Easter 2009

What a wonderful weekend! As Billie said from the pulpit Sunday morning, "our God did what no other religious figure has ever done...he rose from the dead..."

We have recently started to make an effort to declutter our house. (When you have 5 people packed into less than 1400 sq feet, you have to at least try to save space!) Because of our desire to bring less into our house, we decided to forgo easter baskets this year. We had an egg hunt in the backyard on Saturday afternoon, which we have only done 1 other time in the 7 years that we've had kids. Needless to say, egg hunting has not been a tradition of ours...no real reason...just have never done it.

I rented a couple of movies that the girls have wanted to see, so that was their surprise on Sunday afternoon. And it was alright with them! I was sorta wondering if we would get a question or 3 about the lack of easter baskets, but none came. Some friends from church came over later in the afternoon and we had dinner together. It was a wonderfully relaxing day!

My mom furnished the girls' dresses this year...I was gonna make them again, but school has been kinda nuts lately and I wouldn't have gotten them done anyway! And who doesn't love a good "spinny" dress?!?
