I felt a huge swell of pride on Friday night as Team USA entered during the opening ceremonies.
The five of us have been very excited about cheering for our country! What an honor to live in this nation.
I have to admit though, I felt a bit of pride, too, when Ethiopia entered. Why, you ask? Because our daughter is there and it's only right for our family to cheer for her country too!
Though she will be a US citizen when she lands here, she will always be Ethiopian, and we will gladly merge her nationality into our family.
(Emily, I am sure that you are glowing with pride at your daughter's country right now. I have thought about you a lot! Enjoy the games!)
So we will be keeping up with USA and Ethiopia over the next 2 weeks...and we'll be cheering for them both!

Hon....funny, I never told you, that on opening nite of the Olympics...I too watched Ethiopia and wondered if any of their olympians might be connected to our newest granddaughter yet to be!!!!
I even hit rewinded to watch them again enter the stadium.... My mind automatically wanders to a place when we will see her face to face! (ok, stop the tears-cause I can't see right now)
We keep praying! Joy! Momma
