This is the book that my just-turned-6-year-old picked up and wanted to read this morning. Needless to say, she read the entire first chapter by herself! She got stuck on "Pennsylvania" and "doughnuts" (it's not spelled do-nuts). But that's about all she got caught up on. She even emphasized the italics and used her voice inflection for question marks and exclamation points.
For a girl that just started reading last summer, I'd say she's getting the hang of it pretty quick!

and she is just like her mother and her mother before her....she comes from along line (actually my mother does not read) of vivid readers....even at the breakfast table!
I remember when you , Shana, told me you wanted to be a mommie just like me...well you are now, a very good one at that, and your daughter is wanting to be just like you! What a wonderful compliment!!!!!! Love you all, Mom
