The joy of reading...

Well, most of you know that JK is reading like a pro. She's on a first grade reading level and just continues to impress us by reading (not sounding out) words like "neccessary"...crazy for a 5 year old, I know...I digress...

...She reads anything that her eyes land on...usually outloud. This worries me because there's an exit on I75 that has a huge billboard advertising a "gentlemen's club" and it says "We Bare All"...I worry everytime we get to that exit that she's going to read it, see the scantily clad women on the ad and ask what it means...I digress again...

...tonight we were at Target so that I could spend some birthday money...Billie had all 3 girls with him in the men's clothing section and JK's eyes land on some t-shirts in a display...she begins to read...outloud..."I love hot mommas"...to which Billie replies, "yeah, let's not read those"...her eyes land on one more...a shirt with a fire extinguisher...and she reads...outloud..."I put out"...to which Billie replies, "alright, that's it, no more reading t-shirts!"

So for those of you who are anxious for your kids to read...don't be! And another thing...there's no more spelling in front of her. She just sounds out what you're spelling!

I do not know IF I can type while crying, but I will try! Oh my! Sir and I laughed so hard!!! Times are different then when I grew up...I Dream of Jeanie was not allowed to show her belly button and now my grand is reading "I put out" on a t-shirt in a store! Goes to show that Gods word is most important as they grow up in this world today. Love you all! Momma

That is too funny! I laughed out loud when I read the post - and then I had to read it to Jeremy. Oh, what I have to look forward to! :)
