...of home ownership, that is! Our house is falling apart. Well, not really, but that's how it feels right now. On Monday night, Billie and I were getting ready to make some muffins after the girls were in bed (I know, we're bad parents!) and the oven wasn't pre-heating. The annoying thing about this is that the appliance is only 5 months old. Billie called a Whirlpool tech and the problem is an easy fix...good thing we're still under warranty!
But that's not the best part! Tuesday night, we actually had to use the A/C for the first time in about a week...we've had quite a frigid spring thus far. Anyway...long story short, today we're getting a new A/C unit installed. That's what happens when you buy a house and the unit is at the end of its 12 year life span!
But THIS is the coolest part yet...Billie talked to our home insurance guy yesterday to see what kind of coverage we had for stuff like this. He said that the only way it was covered was if the unit had been struck by lightning. Well...the tech that came to look at it last night said that it looked like it had been struck by lightning! How is that for God always taking care of His children? So now, instead of $4500 we're only responsible for our $1000 deductible!
Praise the Lord for His goodness!
